Hi all, OnDistantShores here.
As you've no doubt seen by now, Last.fm has undergone some major site upgrades in the last week. A lot of people are less than
stoked about it, including me. I'm really hoping the Last.fm site can get back to its former glory (i.e. full functionality) soon.
In theory, there should be no adverse effect on the Universal Scrobbler, as there are no planned changes to the way that 3rd party
apps like this submit scrobbles to the Last.fm APIs. However, I know there have been patches of downtime recently with a few people
experiencing scrobbling issues - sorry about this, I'm hoping that Last.fm keep these disruption periods to a minimum as they
transition.
If you want to find out more about the transition process, you can read
Last.fm's post about it.
Also, remember, if you ever experience scrobbling error messages, it's worth checking the Last.fm status page
to see whether it's a problem with Last.fm's submission services. When this is down, all we can do is wait...
Finally, I made this tool to make your Last.fm experience better, to fill a gap. These recent changes to the Last.fm site may
mean more gaps, and I'd welcome your thoughts on how I can help fill these gaps during this time. If you have ideas, the group page
is currently down, so feel free to contact me at my Last.fm profile or via
email at cameron.ross at gmail.
Cheers, and happy scrobbling!
